Where Art Meets Elegance: vonoz cashmere – A New Standard in Handmade Luxury
In an era of fast fashion and overexposure, vonoz cashmere follows a different rhythm. Founded in Switzerland and rooted in the textile heritage of Kashmir and Nepal, the brand is dedicated to the art of handwoven and embroidered cashmere shawls — made with uncompromising attention to detail, rare materials, and cultural authenticity.
What sets vonoz apart is its dual expertise: the atelier is the world’s only specialist for both bespoke Kani weaving and Sozni embroidery on pure cashmere. Each shawl is handcrafted over months or even years using techniques passed down through generations. The focus lies not on trends or logos, but on timeless artistry.
The brand exclusively uses hand-spun fibres from Ladakh, Tibet, Nepal, and Mongolia — including rarities such as Vicuña, Qiviut, Lotus fibre, Byssus (sea silk) and gold- or silver-threaded Lahngarn. All dyes are plant- or mineral-based, including historic sources like Tyrian Purple, Cochineal, Murex Blue, Gallnut Black or natural Indigo.
Each bespoke piece is crafted to order and may take up to five years to complete, depending on complexity. In addition to its commissioned works, vonoz also offers curated seasonal editions: the Kashmiri Heritage Collection (classic shawls and stoles), and the Nepali Essence Collection (soft, hand-washed Himalayan cashmere).
Behind the scenes, vonoz applies a quiet form of Swiss perfectionism: technical improvements in weaving structure, reversible embroidery, and fibre processing ensure each piece meets the expectations of a discerning global clientele.
While the aesthetic of vonoz is understated, the ambition is not: to become the world’s most refined reference in handwoven cashmere.
